Following successful growth in the Netherlands, Castro Communications has now also launched Castro EU. This new venture will focus on communication and lobbying at the European level. This was announced by Castro founders Stefan de Bruijn and Frits Huffnagel during the networking event Castro Invites, featuring speakers such as Malik Azmani, the VVD’s lead candidate in the upcoming European Parliament elections, and Alexander Bakker, EU correspondent for De Telegraaf.

Stefan de Bruijn: “Decision-making within and by the European Union increasingly affects our daily lives. This European year is also extra important due to the European Parliament elections and the arrival of a new European Commission. At Castro, we continuously see examples of how European politics influence our daily lives and the business operations of our clients. Over the past few years, we’ve been increasingly asked if we can also support clients in Brussels. We’ve successfully started doing this over the past year, including various campaigns. We want more of this. We are therefore proud to announce the launch of Castro EU.”

Frits Huffnagel: “We are very excited about this new step, which feels like a logical new chapter for us. In the coming period, we have many exciting activities planned, such as a major European election debate that we are organizing and will be accessible to a wide audience. Castro EU will work in Brussels with various permanent partners and employees. We will be announcing more about this in the short term.”

Castro Communications was founded on January 1, 2019, and is named after the Castro district in San Francisco. The company now has a permanent team of 10 colleagues and an extensive network of freelancers and partner companies. Castro works for clients such as Uber, Flink, Pathé, Johnson & Johnson, and Five Guys, as well as organizations like SpiritsNL, Smart Delta Resources, and the Curaçao Tourist Board. In 2023, Castro, together with the Belgian event agency New Balls Please, started New Balls Please Netherlands.
